Open-Source MRI Sequence Programming Workshop
We are excited to announce an Open-Source MRI Sequence Programming Workshop. This in-person event will bring together MRI researchers, developers, and enthusiasts interested in advancing reproducible open science.
Whether you are a seasoned Pulseq contributor or just curious, this event will offer something for everyone. From seminars and coding, to scanning on the Siemens Prisma 3T and Terra 7T MRI systems.

Some answers to frequenty asked questions
- Participation:
– The workshop is in-person to promote collaboration, but you do not need to be based in Switzerland to participate.
– The seminars of Prof. Maxim Zaitsev & Prof. Rita Nunes will be broadcast online as part of the international lecture series of the Translational Imaging Center - Location: The workshop (CATR Auditorium on floor 2), seminars (Felix Frey Auditorium on ground floor), coffee breaks (in QIS-LAB on floor 1), and MRI scanning (TIC on floor -2) are in the same building.
- Lunch: There is a cafetaria in the building, and plenty of other cafetarias available in the area. There is also a COOP supermarket just across the street.
- Available resources: 3T Prisma, 7T Terra, standardized relaxometry & PDFF phantoms
– Essential System Phantom (CaliberMRI)
– Mini System Phantom (CaliberMRI)
– Comprehensive PDFF Phantom model 825 (Calimetrix) - Prior knowledge: An understanding of MRI physics and programming is strongly encouraged to participate in the workshop.
– We recommend to have a look at existing Pulseq tutorials.
– A virtual MRIPulseq course is organized at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg which takes place from September 1-12, 2025. - ECTS credits: The workshop is credited with 1 ECTS by the Graduate School for Cellular and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Bern.
