Dr. Eva Peper

Hi, my name is Eva Peper and I am a postdoctoral researcher at QIS LAB. My background is in Physics, but I have been working with quantitative MRI already for seven years. My focus during my PhD at the University of Amsterdam (2015-2020) and my Postdoc at ETH (2020-2022) has been on 4D Flow MRI – a technique to visualize and quantify blood flow in the heart and the great vessel. Challenges of 4D Flow MRI are its long acquisition time for which I implemented a compressed sensing accelerating strategy to speed up the scan. I have also been working on generating 4D Flow MRI derived parameters, such as wall shear stress, pulse wave velocity, turbulent kinetic energy and the Reynolds stress tensor. In collaboration with clinicians we have been investigating the use of these parameters for diagnosis and risk stratification in contrast to conventional tools. I am very active in the MRI community of the ISMRM (international society of magnetic resonance) and I have been organizing small conferences and study group meetings. With my Postdoc at QIS LAB I am looking forward to new challenges in scan acceleration and image reconstruction of phase cycled bSSFP data.
