My name is Ambra Jin, and I’m a PhD student at the QIS Lab. My background sits between engineering and AI. I hold a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering from King’s College London and an AI PGCert from Queen Mary University of London, completed in 2022.

On the MRI side, my master’s thesis optimised a hierarchical Bayesian model for myocardial perfusion in DCE-MRI, accelerating it across multi-core and GPU implementations. Since summer 2025, I’ve worked on Deuterium Metabolic Imaging at ultra-high field, measuring metabolic markers of ischemia in cardiac perfusion prior to heart transplantation.

On the AI side, I completed two Google Summer of Code internships: the first on acoustic signal processing to isolate orca calls, the second on 3D shape reconstruction with WGANs for Tensorflow.

At the QIS Lab, my work brings both strands together. I’m investigating menopause biomarkers using quantitative MRI and MR spectroscopy, and developing a deep learning framework to incorporate digital twin data.
