Matteo Tagliabue

Hello, my name is Matteo Tagliabue and I am currently a PhD student at the QIS LAB. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Microtechnology and Medical Technology with specializations in Optics and Photonics and Medical Technology from the Berner Fachhochschule BFH, which I completed in 2022. I then completed a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering with a specialization in Image-Guided Therapy at the University of Bern, which I finished in 2024. My master thesis focused on the development of a self-gating technique to reduce motion artifacts in MRI scans by extracting cardiac and respiratory signals directly from the acquired data. The goal was to improve image quality in time-resolved MRI by mitigating motion-related issues, such as respiration and cardiac motion, that affect anatomical imaging. Now, as a PhD student in the QIS LAB, my research is focused on advancing quantitative imaging of liver disease biomarkers using MRI. I’m excited to continue contributing to the field and working with the talented team at QIS LAB.
