David Sapienza

Hi, my name is David Sapienza and I am currently an intern at QIS LAB, working under the supervision of Dr. Eva Peper.

I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics at EPFL in Lausanne in 2023. I am now pursuing a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics at ETH in Zurich, with Machine Learning as my chosen application area.
My research interests in ML span a wide range of topics, from the mathematical and theoretical foundations of neural architectures to their practical applications in fields like computer vision and natural language processing. I am particularly fascinated by the interplay between rigorous mathematical principles and their implementation in solving real-world problems across various domains.

At QIS LAB I’m applying ML to magnetic resonance image reconstruction for the bSSFP sequence in cardiac imaging, with a focus on preserving its characteristic signal properties.
